An accessible website is one which enables people with disabilities and elderly people to use it as effectively and as enjoyably as any other user.

20-25% of the population experience difficulties using internet websites, and could benefit from facilitated internet content, according to a 2003 Microsoft © research.

The Veterinary Behavior Center endorses and acts to promote equal online opportunities for people with various disabilities and for those who require assistive technologies for computer use.

 

Website accessibility

This website conforms with the Israeli bylaws for equal opportunities for people with disabilities (adaptations for access to services) of 2013.

This website also conforms with Israeli standard recommendation (IS 5568) for accessibility of internet content, and recommendations from file WCAG2.0 by W3C.

Furthermore, it is adapted to the use of cellular phones and commonly used browsers.

 

Changes and adaptations made to the website:

Changes include rigorous accessibility adaptations including semantic and informative implementation permit for assistive technologies, navigation control and keyboard-only employment according to the W3C; color adaptations as well as assistive tags and form-filling instructions for the benefit of all users. For optimized surfing experience with a screen-

 

Additional changes made to the website:

We have added an option of keyboard navigation to allow surfing without the use of a mouse; adaptations to compatibility of use with a screen-reader, adjustments from color to black/white or other color contrasts, blocking of animated or moving components on the screen and enhancement of URL links.

 

Please note that in spite of our attempts to make accessible all our website pages, some files such as Word or Excel documents, internal management systems and video files are still undergoing adjustment, and we are working to complete this process.

Please note also, that due to the dynamic nature of this website, slight problems may be encountered from time to time, as it is updated regularly. We are constantly searching for solutions which will ultimately lead to all parts of the website being equally accessible online.
